Day One Patch Won't Fix Animations in Mass Effect: Andromeda

Day One Patch Won't Fix Animations in Mass Effect: Andromeda
Published by: tomcarter on Friday, March 10, 2017

Mass Effect: Andromeda is shaping up to be one of the biggest releases this year, and if considered the history of the series, it can also be a strong Game of the Year contender. For those of you who are not aware, the review copies are already handed over to the reviewers, and there are some alarming things about the game that need to be fixed.

Before we begin exploring the issues that are currently plaguing the game, you should know that the game is being developed by BioWare, however, instead of using the Unreal engine, the development is done entirely using the Frostbite engine that is popular in games like Battlefield series, as well as Dragon Age: Inquisition.

With that out of the way, the issue that’s plaguing the game at the moment is that the facial and overall animations are horribly implemented to the point that these animations have been subjected to several meme creations all over the internet.

Considering how the game is still under embargo and not available to the public release, gamers thought that the day 1 patch will probably fix the horrible animations that have made a laughing stock out of the game. Sadly, it is now confirmed that the day 1 patch won’t be doing anything about the animations.

The confirmation is coming from Ian Frazier, who happens to be the lead designer on Mass Effect: Andromeda, while responding to a tweet about the day 1 patch fixing the issues with the animation, Frazier went ahead and said:

“At day 1? No, that ship has sailed. We'll have more patches later on, but exactly what goes into them is still in discussion.”

Apparently, we do know that there are going to be patches later on for the game. However, it’s not clear whether or not the patches will actually fix the animation issue that has been ruining the experience for a lot of people.

Considering how the game is available for the members of the EA’s Origin access, a lot of players have taken to social media as well as Reddit and raised concerns about this rather weird situation.

In addition to that, several people have also compared the facial animations to older games with much smaller budget stating that Mass Effect: Andromeda doesn’t look half as good. In addition to that, the good news is that the Frazier did confirm that BioWare is looking into adding new skin tones for the character creation.

Last but not the least, Frazier commented that the multiplayer sound issue is currently being investigated. Needless to say, BioWare is currently encouraging the players to report the problems as soon as they see one.

Knowing the company’s history and success, we have high hopes for the Mass Effect: Andromeda receiving the right amount of attention that a game of this scale actually deserves.

Mass Effect: Andromeda is launching officially on 21st March on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.

Backward compatibility on Xbox One will be a standard feature when it launches later this year. BioWare Announces First Dragon Age Inquisition Co-op Multiplayer Details

BioWare Announces First Dragon Age Inquisition Co-op Multiplayer Details
Published by: forahobby on Wednesday, August 27, 2014

BioWare has just announced that "Dragon Age: Inquisition", the third entry in the epic fantasy role-playing game trilogy, will feature action-packed four player cooperative quests separate from the single player open world story.

Created alongside the massive single player campaign, this marks the first time gamers can play with their friends in the Dragon Age franchise. The multiplayer mode in Dragon Age: Inquisition will feature action-packed four player cooperative quests separate from the single player open world story.

In Dragon Age: Inquisition’s multiplayer mode, four players will team up across a range of multiplayer quests and objectives, exploring intricate dungeons and vanquishing all who oppose them. While dungeon-crawling, players will collect loot, salvage items, craft new weapons and armor, and unlock new characters. At launch, players will be able to unlock up to twelve characters across the three Inquisition classes of Legionnaire, Reaver and Mage, each playing a different and strategic role in multiplayer combat. Multiplayer in Dragon Age: Inquisition is a standalone experience from the open world story players will embark in the main game, and will not have an impact on single player progression or story.

“For Dragon Age: Inquisition, a special team of veteran developers from the Dragon Age and Mass Effect franchises created fun, fast-paced multiplayer gameplay that requires strategic teamwork on top of Inquisition’s party-based combat and extensive loot and crafting system,” said Aaryn Flynn, General Manager, BioWare. “It was early in the game’s development that we realized how much fun fans of our series were having, with so many players teaming up in Mass Effect 3’s multiplayer mode. We can’t wait to give Dragon Age fans an even bigger and deeper experience.”

Players can pre-order* Dragon Age: Inquisition to get special bonus content. Visit the Dragon Age website for more information on editions, including the Deluxe Edition available for pre-order and the upcoming Inquisitor’s Edition.

Dragon Age: Inquisition is in development at BioWare in Edmonton and will be available on November 18, 2014 for the Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and PC via Origin.
