Well I sat down today and had this drive that had this problem and i was determined to fix this error and have solved the source of the problem so that people can fix it this should be a fix for all versions of the Xbox 360 drives: Hitachi, Samsung, Benq, and Lite-on.
The Problem:
When you turn your xbox 360 on your dvd drive tray opens automatically without you pressing any buttons to eject it. Then when you close it, it just re-opens again.
The Fix:
Quite easy to do i tested this on a lite-on drive having this problem and all i did was swap the board to a Brand new dvd drive case, and it fixed it so that narrowed down what the problem was and i have pictures of what you have to replace in order to get your drive working perfect again. The part should not cost more then $5.00-$10.00 and you might have it laying around on another drive that has a bad part else-wear.
The First picture shows the part you need to replace to get this fixed. Hope this helps people that are having this problem and want a cheap fix.
Tools Some Require if not all Soldering and Desoldering:
- Soldering iron
- Solder if you need i did not need as all i did was heat up the old solder on the main board just enough to lift the wires and also put back wires off the new one.
Your going to desolder The Black and Red Wire or what color they show on that type of drive and then replace with new one simple if yours dont say R and B on the board your resoldering to take a picture of how it goes before starting. After the new one is installed your good to go.
