Halo 3 With Microsoft, the rumors are always true. The next iteration in Bungie Studios' Halo series will appear at E3 2006 in video form at its Tuesday, May 9 news conference, IGN learned today from independent sources who recently spoke with Microsoft executives.
The video is allegedly two minutes long, although its contents weren't divulged. We're guessing a wild breathtaking battle on Earth. Knowing Microsoft, the publisher will want to show all real, in-game engine footage to counter Sony's fantastical CG videos from E3 2005. When Microsoft was contacted, the company issued its standard reply, "We don't comment on speculation and rumors."

The next Halo is coming in March 2007. According to a Microsoft source who asked to remain anonymous and a second source close to the company, IGN today learned that Microsoft will publish the next Halo game (as predicted in January) in March 2007.
When phoned, Microsoft declined to comment. While the holiday season remains the most important set of months to publish a game, the first calendar quarter of the year is proving to be bigger and more prominent in sales. Microsoft intends to innovate, challenge traditions, and to use its own "playbook" (as Microsoft's J Allard has said time and again), and slotting Halo 3 (or Halo Forerunners, or whatever April Fool's gag you choose) in March 2007 is likely to shift consumers' priorities. That anticipation will overlap with the first few months of Sony's and Nintendo's launches, cutting into their building stages, and shifting eyes toward and opening wallets for Xbox 360.
A leading analyst says PlayStation 3's delay could prompt Microsoft to seek to sabotage the launch with the timely release of its key Xbox 360 title Halo 3.
Hiroshi Kamide, analyst at KBC Securities in Tokyo said, "The Xbox 360 will now have had a year’s head start. The danger is that they could target very big-hitting titles at the launch of the PS3 just to sabotage it. If they release Halo 3 – Microsoft’s biggest selling game – timed to PS3, that will be quite damaging for Sony."
Last year, Bill Gates famously stated that Halo 3 would be lying in wait for PlayStation 3's spring launch. But Microsoft then distanced itself from these remarks, as it became clear that the game would not be ready. But PlayStation 3's delay is bound to have put the prospect of spoiling Sony's party back on the agenda.

"ilovebees2" features a black screen with lines of random letters, numbers, and symbols. There's also a timer that is counting down to the end of March—or, the beginning of April (also known as April Fool's Day)—and a 12-second audio loop that sorta sounds like a subway train. Most striking is an image that's partially carved out of by the lines of gibberish. We will start off this week with some juicy new 360 rumors freshly squeezed from the ever-reliable source of semi-reliable information “The Internet”. The game industry has always been full of rumors and speculations, and in contrasts to the movie and music industry where rumors usually are of a more destructive nature, the people working in the game industry have little to fear as the rumors almost always are harmless fantasies made up by overly enthuastic fans. But every now and then rumors are not rumors at all but true reports from people with inside information. If these latest rumors we are reporting today have any truth in them we’ll have to leave up to each one of you to decide for yourselves.
After the Halo 360 'upgrades' yesterday, Next Generation went looking for more information on other Xbox titles. What we found out was less than conclusive but Microsoft will be making announcements about it in the next 24 hours.
